We had a great time in April with Elizabeth Jayne Photography for our team photo shoot at Loot Vintage Rentals. STEMS Floral Design brought some very simple but astoundingly gorgeous orchids in cylinder vases. Strictly Sweets by Amanda provided the adorable high-heeled cupcakes, and Stardust Pastry made the macarons. We actually had so much fun with the oh-so-yummy macarons that I laughed so hard I was crying and couldn't breathe.
We found so many items in
Loot Vintage Rentals that we had a hard time selecting what we wanted to use! Suitcases, trunks, chairs, tables, plates, pillows, doors, and window panes all made the cut for this shoot.
All of our amazing vendors are accounted for in the one image below, and I love this picture!
Macarons by Stardust Pastry....Careful if you try to feed one to someone else, because you might lose a finger they're so good! (If you don't believe me, just ask Ashley.)
Since Your Very Own Fairy Godmother came to be in 2002, a high-heeled shoe has been our logo. It started as a glass Cinderella slipper on a blue background. Then, it was a pink background with a very similar shoe, and we updated it to a line drawing of a high-heeled shoe by Dragonfly Designs about a year ago. Below, you'll find our shoes and 4 pairs of high-heeled cupcakes by Strictly Sweets (as well as our "Fairy Godmother wands!")

All of these pieces (except the vases and flowers by STEMS) are from Loot Vintage Rentals. Loot has a chair called "Frenchie" that was rented out the day of the shoot that I really do want to take home with me. Unfortunately, I don't think I could afford the lifetime rental fee.
This was my first opportunity to work with Liz of Elizabeth Jayne Photography, and she was so easy going. She crawled around on the floor to get pictures, hiked into the weeds with us, and got every picture we wanted in a short amount of time. I knew from her portfolio that she was great at capturing emotion and telling a story, and now we look forward to working with her again to tell the story of our clients.

We never did share with you the pictures Bill McCullough took at Abby & Corey's wedding last April....Now, you can find it in glossy print at your local bookstore or news stand in Austin Wedding Day Magazine.
Our role was very different for this particular wedding. Abby did the planning, but our day of services were much more involved than normal. Because all of the Barr Mansion managers and many staff members were guests at the wedding, we were in charge of all of our normal "day of duties" as well as overseeing the Barr Mansion's staff. The wedding was gorgeous! However...our team was EXHAUSTED! Abby and Corey were great to work with and well worth the effort, and we always love working at The Barr Mansion.

Yes, I'm aware that the sound and video quality are less than impressive. You can see the waves crashing, and they were VERY loud. Needless to say, this home video captured all of the background noise. Yes, I also know that it starts out sideways, but I promise that it changes to a horizontal picture very quickly. Regardless, the bride looks AMAZING, and the ceremony was incredibly touching. In total, it's about 10.5 minutes. Enjoy!

Our Austin & Houston wedding planning team recently returned from our annual retreat, and it was amazing! We laughed so hard that we cried, and new friendships were formed. Our Austin and Houston teams had not spent a great deal of time together before our weekend retreat, because many of our Houston Fairy Godmother wedding consultants have joined our team within the past year. I cannot begin to express how talented all of the ladies on the team are or how blessed we are to have them as Fairy Godmothers! It was refreshing to have the different personality types share their individual perspectives and have the opportunity to all learn from one another. I know that I still learn from the other ladies on the team, and I am fortunate enough to have already been in the industry for (shhh, we don't talk about age!) twelve years. We played wedding games (that actually required budgeting and planning), took a wine tasting and pairing class, stomped grapes at a winery, did team building activities, learned how to better work with different personality types, and danced into wee hours of the morning to some of our favorite songs. I look forward to all that our newest rising stars have to offer! Amy, Bronwyn, Heather, Maranda, Marissa, and Martha are a few Fairy Godmothers that have recently received or are completing their curriculum to become Certified Professional Wedding Consultants. Thank you, Alina, for such amazing images of Ashley's wedding! As many big sisters can relate, my little sister means the world to me, and I do everything I can to make sure that she is always happy. Austin wedding photographer La Dolce Vita Photography has definitely made my little sister happy!!!! The last image is during the reception when an amazing rainbow appeared "out of the ocean" and made the full arch all the way back over to land. Of all of the weddings I've attended/planned, I've never seen a rainbow after the vows. Priceless.....
Pin ItI am incredibly excited to have more images from Ashley & Ben's wedding in Cabo San Lucas! These are courtesy of the AMAZING Alina Prax of La Dolce Vita. The first 3 images are of the resort where everyone stayed in Cabo, The Riu Palace. There are four horizon pools on the property, and we all spent a great deal of time relaxing in them and enjoying the fantastic view of the famous arch and land's end. The next few images are of Ashley getting ready (with some assistance from her big sister, a.k.a. the original fairy godmother), and the final image was taken on the rooftop terrace at Sunset Da Mona Lisa. (The ceremony took place on one of the lower pool terraces overlooking the ocean....Those images will be coming soon!)
