In honor of a very special day, National Margarita Day, the
Fairy Godmothers had to share with you a couple of our favorite margarita
variations for our very special Friday Cocktail edition. The basics are usually well known, your
favorite tequila (NEVER buy a cheap brand! That’s a recipe for a headache
later!), triple sec and lime juice. Did
you know that a splash of fresh orange juice will help to smooth out any
margarita? We also like to use frozen
limeade as our base. It’s much cheaper
than a margarita mix, tastes better and is easy to keep it stocked in your
freezer whenever an impromptu celebration or craving comes along.
The Italian Margarita
1 part Triple Sec
2 parts Tequila
1 part Orange Juice
4 parts lime juice
Blend with ice and top with a floater of Amaretto almond liquor
Perfect Margarita
In a shaker mix the following:
1 part Grand Marnier
1 part Cointreau
1 part Orange juice
4 parts lime juice
Fill your shaker with ice and shake! Serve your strained margarita up in a chilled martini glass with an olive
garnish and reserve the left overs in the shaker to top off your drink as you go.
What are your favorite twists or floaters to add to your
margarita?
