Each guest was asked to "don pearls" as Julia Child did.
Dinner was prepared directly from the recipes of Julia Child in Mastering the Art of French Cooking. A copy of this cookbook was given away to one of the guests. (A copy of My Life in France and some kitchen gadgets were given to the other guests.)

At each place setting at the countertop table for the cooking class was a handmade reversible apron with a matching tea towel for the guests to keep.
Each guest had a personalized chef's hat from Oriental Trading Company.

The formal dinner table was set with simplicity. Noritake china, candles, and simple linens.

The menu included assorted cheeses, gourmet crackers, fruit, sundried tomato and parmesan twists, potato & leek soup, fresh bread, Boef Bourguignon, ratatouille, and assorted French pastries.

I am modeling the chef's hat and apron for the camera.
The following pictures are all from the cooking class portion of the evening. Dinner was served after the class, and then we retired to the media room to watch Julie & Julia.
One sauce needed to be heated, so this is an "action" shot.
